Newbie Car under 250K budget : Planning Stage
Nov 28th
Since i started working 3 years ago, i’ve been saving a small amount of my earnings for one purpose and purpose only – to buy my first car. I’m spending enormous amount of time browsing forums and car reviews to help me decide which one to get under 250K budget.
What are my primary factors :
1. reliability
2. fuel efficiency
3. Safety
4. Power
With a lot of car brands to choose from, I will only stick to 2 manufacturers which i think is the best as based on the reviews that i read.
1. Toyota
2. Honda
Under that budget i’m hoping to get atleast a 97 model but 98 would be better. I’m currently reviewing the head to head car comparison between a toyota GLI and Honda ESI or VTI.
and now the search for my first car begins …
Toyota Avanza
Nov 15th
On my way to work earlier, i saw a new vehicle displayed in Toyota Alabang showroom. I never had the chance to get the model but i saw “AV” something. while i was browsing the morning newspaper in the office, there i saw an ad about the latest release of Toyota’s world class quality vehicles.
The Avanza – is an entry level Multi-purpose vehicle that combines the elements of versatility, quality and affordability. Avanza was first introduced in Indonesian market last January 2004.
i tried checking the toyota philippines website and i can’t seem find anything related to Avanza. So if you want to know more about avanza just visit the toyota malaysia site.

Mitsubishi recalls over a thousand SUVs
Nov 15th
This new development about motor company Mitsubishi came from Agence France-Presse:
Mitsubishi Motors Corp. is recalling 1,669 sports utility vehicles with intercooler parts that could fall off and defective fuse box circuits, the company announced Tuesday.
Subject to recall are 1,401 RVR Sports Gear SUV vehicles manufactured in 1997-2002 and 268 Pajero SUVs manufactured in 2006, according to a statement on Mitsubishi’s Web site.
A fault in parts connecting the intercooler’s air intake vent to the car means the vent could fall off, the statement said. In the Pajeros, faulty circuits mean the cars’ blinkers could fail, it said.
The 1,669 vehicles were all sold in Japan, according to the company said. It wasn’t immediately clear whether models sold overseas also had defective parts.
No accidents have been reported related to the faulty intercooler parts or circuits, according to Mitsubishi.
Although the reports say that the recalls where only for vehicles sold in Japan, we’ll never know if the ones being auctioned off at Subic in Olongapo may be one of them.
Better check your car if it’s one of ‘em.
