The i-VTEC engine technology has earned distinction in providing high torque, high power output, low fuel consumption and cleaner emissions that pass EURO 4 levels even if Philippine regulations only mandate EURO 2 compliance. The Civic remains to be the most powerful in its class with maximum power output of 140 ps at 6300 rpm for the 1.8 variant and 155 ps at 6000 rpm for the 2.0 liter variant. To further enhance fuel efficiency, it still comes with class-leading 5-speed automatic transmission to reduce engine revolution and stress.
